Event Details
Description: First responders are seldom called to incidents involving entrapments or
impalements. Due to these low frequency, high risk events, it is imperative that
responders develop a patient removal and care mindset that is often talked
about, but seldom exercised.
Participants will learn various extrication methods utilizing hand, pneumatic, and
power tools that will help achieve successful outcomes as you rotate through
stations that includes scenarios such as entangled digits, limb entrapments, and
impalements.
You will gain an appreciation for tools that should be carried as part of the tool
compliment carried on an engine company and are not commonly utilized in this
discipline. Participants are required to utilize structural PPE, eye/ear protection
during the training evolutions.
